Waited maybe 2 years to get this image. Found this tree at the back of a private section near Awatapu School,
with a view straight up the river to the bridge, with the hills and windmills beyond. Asked the owners for permission to climb it,
and then waited 2-3 months to get the light right. It is a late evening view, taken in Autumn 2010. You can see Mt Ruapehu on the horizon behind the city.

Ruapehu Crater Lake (colour)
This image was taken on 10 September 2005. After a glorious day skiing, I carried my skis up from the Turoa ski field to the crater rim.
On three previous attemps to reach the summit, I had faced white-out conditions and on two of those, fierce winds. This day was perfect and clear.
